Blue Hours with “Run! BTS”

A Brief History Of “Run! BTS”

“Run! BTS” or 달려라 방탄! Is a variety web series with BTS which first aired on August 1st, 2015. The show is broadcasted with free viewing on the Hybe Entertainment affiliated apps: VLive and Weverse. The show was originally supposed to last for only a few episodes with a time span of 7-10 minutes each. However, the show received an overwhelming response from ARMY with love pouring in as every new episode dropped and so the creators chose to make a second season after a year-long break in 2017. Ever since then, the show had been going strong until 2021 when a break was announced. Run BTS aired their season three finale, episode 156, on October 12th, 2021. Titled “Finale (Part 2),” the members took a trip down memory lane and played ARMY's favorite games from the show's history, promising to be back soon.

Since then, ARMY have ‘mourned’ the loss of the most iconic show and have constantly tweeted about their favorite episodes and how much they miss “Run! BTS,” often trending RunBTS.

Even with the variety of shows that BTS have done over the years with 4 seasons of “Bon Voyage”, 2 seasons of “BTS In The Soop” and several other “Bangtan Gayo” episodes, the void caused by “Run! BTS'' going off-air is still not filled. So, to help the ARMYs going through their ‘blue hours’, here are four iconic “Run! BTS” episodes that have given the fandom many memes and something that everyone can’t help but revisit and enjoy.

Episode 24

Episode 24, or what it is often referred to as BTS v/s Zombies, is among one of the most memorable episodes in the history of “Run! BTS.” What makes it even funnier is the staff making BTS believe they were going for a night safari before they are hilariously attacked by a group of people or ‘zombies’ throughout this episode, becoming fodder for some of the best-known memes in the ARMY fandom.

Episode. 39 & 41

Hoseok: Ca-ra-bo-na-ra Jimin: Lachimollala?

This episode will have you rolling on the floor with laughter, consisting of several games with wordplays, puns, and the members trying to read each other’s lips while having loud music blast into their ears. The episode gave ARMY a 10- minute long sequence where they had to say 'Daebak!' (Amazing) to Jin’s guessing skills.

Episodes 102 & 103

Another episode that gave chef ARMYs an equally bad headache as Jin and Yoongi received while trying to get the ‘non-cookers’ of BTS to cook, simply by giving them instructions as avatars. The episode gave us a frustrated Jin and an even more frustrated Yoongi while entertaining us with both the teams of Taehyung-Jungkook and Jimin-Namjoon.

Episode 121

The episode introduced a storyline where each member played a specific role in the BTS Village and together discovered who destroyed the precious ARMY Headstone. The episode is so entertaining that the creators had to continue the storyline in future episodes where BTS went back in time and retrieved the missing piece of the headstone. The members were hilariously extremely competitive as they tried to defend themselves.

Those were only some of the entertaining episodes from “Run! BTS.” In spite of this quick revisitation, we recommend going on a “Run! BTS” spree when time permits, to have fun watching the members be their chaotic selves together and unleash their creativity.
