Time is flying by so fast and in the blink of an eye, it seems tomorrow will be the 100th episode of Run BTS! Every Tuesday for the past five years, this has been the most anticipated variety show for ARMY and millions of viewers around the globe. The show itself has three seasons, airing for the first time in 2015 and is still on-going. The first season of the show was released on August 1st, 2015, showing each member answering questions from the staff about what the fans could expect from the show.
The second season aired on January 31st, 2017, with the members playing a skit called "Back to School." This episode has become one of the most memorable episodes with the appearance of Yoonji, a sassy girl with short hair, played by SUGA. The season ended on July 24th, 2018 as the septet started promoting their song IDOL, the title track of their last “Love Yourself Trilogy” album - Love Yourself: Answer.

Season 3 started off with a delightful bang on January 1st, 2019; a cooking show where the members divided into three groups to cook Italian Food. The episode has become iconic, thanks to Jimin's endearing confidence, making him tilt a bowl of whipped cream over his head, only to realize it wasn't ready when it fell onto his hair.

Through the show, fans have access to the off-stage personas of BTS as they participate in various missions, challenges and other activities relevant to the episodes’ themes. A few special episodes also featured non-competitive activities such as fashion shows, skits, exchanging gifts and even writing heartfelt letters and poems to each other.
The show is not just for entertainment purposes, it’s also informative; treating fans to the knowledge they might not otherwise expect to receive. Want to know how to make a coffee? BTS would be glad to show you how on “Run BTS!” Episode 45. Curious about how some Korean foods are made? There are a few episodes that can teach you. How about floral arrangements? Episode 99 will show you the unexpected skill each member has to make a unique creation with flowers.
Last but not the least, how about taking a peek inside a film production? “Run BTS!” Episodes 73, 74, 75, and 76 will let you take a peek behind a chaotic film shooting; with each BTS member playing roles of both actors and film crew.

The show is not limited to indoor activities either. There are some outdoor episodes such as water sport at Cheongpyeong Lake, BTS vs Zombies at the Everland Amusement Park, playing with cute dog friends, and even doing missions around Toronto, Canada.
Though those are just some of the charms of “Run BTS!” (other than the BTS members of course), the fans also look forward to the rewards and punishments of every episode. How could they not? The staff, and even the members themselves, when allowed to pick their own punishments, have such creative ways to motivate each of them to do their best. Punishments range from being splashed with water, eating suspicious edibles, wearing certain clothes like a Hanbok (Korean traditional clothes), retro clothes, flower masks at the airport, and each other's BT21 character costumes, to inconveniences like going inside a near-freezing cold lake, and even hiking on a mountain.

Of course, with such creative challenges and punishments, fantastic rewards are prepared as well. The most jaw-dropping reward that surprised the septet until now, was the Lotte Duty-Free set of Gift Cards worth 1,400,000 Won ($ 1,150). Of course, it would be a bit embarrassing for them to pay with a card that had their faces on it, thus their motivation to win was fueled by their desire to give the gift cards to their loved ones.

After almost five years since the first episode, the release of their 100th episode is being aired this week. The series is currently available for free viewing on VLive - every Tuesday at 9 pm (KST), while ‘behind the scene’ videos for each episode can be viewed by purchasing a subscription on Weverse.
“Run BTS!” has received so much love from ARMY, and hopefully Big Hit and BTS will continue to deliver high-quality content like this series, for many more years to come.
