Yes, you read it right: “BTS x ARMY’s Love Language.” The title’s level of cheesiness can probably beat a cheesecake, but the rest of this blog should be as sweet and warm as a cup of hot chocolate and marshmallows on a winter evening.
NAMJOONING
RM has explained that Kim Namjoon is someone who enjoys nature and art — walking around on his own and meeting friends over a drink. But he also stated that he has not had time to live as Kim Namjoon.
When BTS enjoyed their first long vacation in 2019, six years after their debut, RM answered “I’m Namjooning” when a fan asked what he was doing. Since then, BTS’ ARMY has adopted this term as a way to describe the quiet moments that RM enjoys when he spends time with nature by himself.
In a recent interview with The Rolling Stones India, RM revealed that he has a sense of responsibility for the name as he wants to share his stories and act as a positive influence for others. Now, “Namjooning” has become a way for RM to show his fans that he’s enjoying himself as Kim Namjoon, and this could also be a sign of trust between RM and ARMY.
“SO SHOW ME.” “I’LL SHOW YOU.”
“Magic Shop” is another song that BTS, especially Jungkook, wrote for ARMY after “2! 3!.” Through this song, BTS told their stories of struggle and endurance., However, instead of asking ARMY about what our own problems were, they instantly proceeded to say things such as “cheer up.” Jumping to question others about their problems is not as helpful as people presume it to be.
They show us that they understand, and remind us, ARMY, how we’ve done our best to bring them to where they are now. Just as we’ve always been there for them through thick and thin, BTS wants us to be there for ourselves as well.
“You gave me the best of me, so you’ll give you the best of you. You’ll find it, the galaxy inside you. So, show me. I’ll show you.” -Magic Shop, BTS-
When BTS says “So, show me!” then ARMY will reply “I’ll show you.” This was an implicit promise that we’ll show them how we would fight for ourselves, like how we’ve fought for them.
G.C.P/G.C.F, VANTE
“Golden Closet Photo” or “Golden Closet Film” are the visual aesthetic contents made by Jungkook to exhibit his skills in photography and videography, while “Vante” is V’s trademark for his photography.
A photographer or videographer communicates with what they show through their lenses. Every shot, every picture, every place holds a deep meaning for them. As someone said:
“If you want to learn what someone fears losing, watch what they photograph.” -Unknown-
G.C.P, G.C.F, and Vante are not just some aesthetically pleasing pictures and videos for Jungkook and V to showcase their skills, but as a language of love that they have for their band members (who have become their muses) and a way to show ARMY words that they don’t say out loud.
HEART EVENT
This tradition that began during The Wings Tour Trilogy was the idea of none other than Kim Seokjin. This event usually happened during their ending speech, when the members would become emotional. Jin prepared many kinds of hearts… whether it was a paper heart-shaped cut-out, a heart-shaped object, or anything that happened to have a heart on it.
Their concert DVD and their other contents have shown how Jin created this heart event himself with the help of the staff. This always succeeded in lightening up the atmosphere and bringing a smile onto the faces of the fans and the BTS members.

In the past, Jin has mentioned that he didn’t want to cry and become emotional in front of the fans, thus he prepared this heart event to show his love in a playful yet sincere way, which of course resonated with the fans’ hearts.
A “Sky For” hashtag started when RM commented on an ARMY’s Weverse post with the words “sky always gives us the reasons to live.” As a response to this heartfelt comment, ARMY started to post pictures of skies they’ve captured by themselves with the hashtag #SkyForNamjoon.
This simple response has become a tradition for ARMY to show their love by posting pictures of beautiful skies from all around the world with the hashtag and changing the name of the member based on whom they want to give the pictures for. The recent massive #SkyFor trend was for SUGA after Big Hit and SUGA released statements regarding his shoulder surgery.
BORAHAE
Last but not least, “Borahae” or “I Purple You,” a phrase made by V on their 3rd Muster.

V came up with the meaning himself and used it as a way to say “I Love You.” Can anyone else use these words when the meaning was created especially for BTS and ARMY? Some might say yes and others might disagree. What we do know though is that V gave such a thoughtful, poignant meaning to the word ‘borahae.’
"Borahae" and "I Purple You" have become BTS' and ARMY's way to say “I Love You.”
Though this blog does not cover all of the Love Language words and phrases that exist between BTS and ARMY, these examples prove how BTS and ARMY love each other deeply. Every word, every gesture, every event holds such a whole-hearted and thoughtful denotation that resonates with both parties. This “Love Language” could become an alternative for those who have trouble saying “I Love You” directly, without in any way diminishing the beautiful meaning.
