What can’t BTS do, exactly? Isn’t that an interesting question? It’s even harder to answer as BTS drops teaser upon teaser of new types of content. They said they were going to be on a long break, but apparently, this was not to be true for ARMYs.
BTS once again emphasized their artistry by releasing an “ARTIST-MADE COLLECTION” in January 2022. They dropped a minute-long teaser video on VLive and Weverse, alongside the release schedule on Twitter on December 30, 2021, shaking the ARMY universe again.
Jin’s Merch Style Photo, posted on January 1, 2022, marked the beginning of this schedule with Jung Kook’s Merch Release closing the event on January 24. The merch from each member is launched in 5 steps: a styled photo on Twitter where they drop the first look of each merch, ARTIST-MADE COLLECTION ‘SHOW’ BY BTS where each member presents their merch, a preview on Weverse Shop, an ARTIST-MADE COLLECTION BY BTS ‘Making-of Log,’ and the final Merch Release on Weverse Shop.
PAJAMA AND PILLOW
Nothing is more quintessentially Jin than the Good Day/Bad Day Pyjama and Pillow set he created. Jin values his sleeping time, so much so that he took notes of what makes a peaceful and recharging sleep. With that in mind, he carefully and thoughtfully designed a high-quality pajama set made of soft cotton for ARMYs to sleep in, with chest and pants pocket, in a wide range of sizes. He also added a pillow to the list, using the shape usually recommended by Orthopedics to patients with sleeping problems, such as insomnia, sleep apnoea, back pains, etc. This pillow will surely deliver better and cozier sleep quality.
“When we go about our lives, we do good things and bad things, and we have our own standards,” Jin explained the concept of the “Good Day” and “Bad Day.” He suggested using the “Good Day” set when we feel proud of ourselves for a day well spent, and using the “Bad Day” set when we’re not satisfied with how our day has turned out and need some pick-me-up to evaluate the day.
Leave it to Jin to make something light-hearted with a deep meaning.
WINDCHIME AND JOGGER PANTS
“It’s so you,” one of the staff said right after RM mentioned his desire to make wind chimes and jogger pants as his merchandise. The typical wind chimes you might find in Korea are adorned with a fish-shaped striker, but this nature-loving person created a bungeo-ppang shaped wind chime, driven by his love of serene atmospheres while listening to the tinkling of wind chimes ― and inspired by the meme from the ARMY about him being obsessed with Bungeo-Ppang, a fish-shaped pastry stuffed with red bean paste. To make it more “Namjoon,” he requested the fish lips to be plush and thick like his. RM, being his thoughtful self, requested it to be smaller than usual wind chimes so that ARMYs who don’t have a balcony can hang it anywhere in their house. He also added the sentence “the wind chime of the view” with his handwriting.

RM’s dubbed “ARMY Jogger Pants” comes in two colors: black with a sky blue BTS logo or gray with a pastel pink BTS logo. It’s made in polyester with fleece inside to quicken the drying of sweat and to make it easy to wash. He also designed it down to the details with “BY BTS” written on the tip of the waistband drawstring. He made sure the pants are suitable for both casual and sportswear.
BROOCH SET AND BOSTON BAG
During the product planning stage, V apologized for thinking about himself while designing his “MUTE Boston Bag” and the Brooch Set, but the apology was unnecessary, as the fans would be honored to have something exclusively made by Kim Taehyung. The “MUTE” name of the Boston Bag came from a character from one of V’s favorite video games, and the Brooch set comes with three different sets of V’s drawings: Flower Buddies, Cloud Drops, and Faces.

V used Saffiano for his MUTE Boston Bag, a technique with a crosshatch pattern on the material to make it scratch-resistant, more durable, and easy to take care of. This means the bag will continue to look new for years after purchase. It also has a gray interior to make it lighter and thus easier for us to look for our things inside. He made it smaller than the usual Boston Bag and offered a detachable shoulder strap to make it a cross bag. The green accent complimented the tan color, and for the cherry on top, V added a silk red and white flowery scarf as an accessory.
Now that we know what Jin, RM, and V have created, what do the rest of the members have in store for us? Let’s check them out in part two of this blog!
