June 13th has just passed. Understandably, BTS and ARMYs were all excited to celebrate this beautiful day. Every year, BTS has FESTA and Muster to celebrate their debut day with ARMY. Did you know though that FESTA and Muster are actually two different things?
FESTA is an event to annually celebrate BTS' debut day; it usually starts from the 1st of June to the big day, June 13th. ARMYs get a lot of content: BTS' family pictures they take every year, videos, their goals, and even gifts such as songs that BTS' members made just for ARMY. Every year we will get a timeline from their official Twitter, and they'll spoil us with content on each day.
Muster is a fan meeting and mini-concert for ARMY. The word "muster" means a formal gathering of troops. These days, it is also a way to celebrate the debut day with the boys. Every year, Muster will have a specific and unique name to stand out that matches with the theme. BTS usually celebrates it every year, but COVID-19 robbed it from ARMY, so we didn't have it in 2020.
BTS had their 1st Muster as a fan meeting in Olympic Hall on March 29, 2014, with the setlist from their album 2 Cool 4 Skool, O!RUL8,2?, and Skool Luv Affair with the bad boy in high school as a theme just like their photo concept in the Skool Luv Affair album with 3,000 ARMY.
The 2nd year of Muster was supposed to be held on June 13, 2015, but due to MERS outbreak they postponed it to January 24, 2016, in Hwajung Gymnasium with 9,000 ARMY in the venue with the songs from their albums The Most Beautiful Moment in Life pt.1, The Most Beautiful Moment in Life pt.2, and The Most Beautiful Moment in Life: Young Forever. Their theme that year was that of joyful young men.
The fanmeet aspect started from their 3rd Muster. BTS always have more than one day to meet their fans to spread happiness in person. BTS had 2 days from November 12, 2016, to November 13, 2016, with 38,000 ARMY in Gocheok Sky Dome. In that Muster, we all witnessed some cute and unexpected units. RM and Jungkook sang "I Know," Suga and Jimin sang "Tony Montana," and the last but not least Jin, j-hope, and V sang "Muster." ARMY also could buy the DVD back then that was released on March 30, 2017. During the concert, V said “Do you know what purple means? Purple is the last color of the rainbow, it means I will love and trust you for a long time.”
BTS and ARMY had their own "Happy Ever After" in BTS' 4th Muster on January 13 and 14, 2018 in Gocheok Sky Dome with 40,000 ARMY. They changed into animal onesies as it is also a theme for the photocard for the DVD that was released on October 31, 2018. Some things never change; V, during the event, said, Do you know why the rainbow has seven colors? Because Bangtan has seven members. It was also their first time performing Pied Piper. ARMYs around the world agree that this song has beautiful choreography as well as a beautiful meaning.
Their 5th Muster was the longest one because it took place over 4 days in 2 different cities. On June 15 and 16 2019, they had it in Asiad Auxiliary Stadium, Busan. On June 22 and 23, 2019, it took place in the Olympic Gymnastics Arena, Seoul. They chose "Magic Shop" as the theme for that year. They performed "Home" for the first time in the event which is one of the songs that ARMY had been dying to listen to in a live performance. Not only that, ARMY were surprised because the boys performed "Ddaeng" together, with Jimin and Jin taking over j-hope's part, V rapping Suga's part, and Jungkook taking the reins on RM's part. They never stop to amaze us each year, don’t you agree?
Their latest Muster was on June 13 and 14, 2021, entitled SOWOOZOO [소우주]. This is also the Korean name for their song, "Mikrokosmos." The DVD was released on May 16, 2022, and then the Digital Code on June 7, 2022. The Blu-Ray will be released on June 22, 2022. It was held in Jamsil Olympic Stadium, and the ARMY - staying at home - enjoyed it through live streaming. The highlight of the event was when BTS sang "Daechwita'' on Day 1 and “Chicken Noodle Soup (feat. Becky G)” on Day 2.
Festa 2022 has been an experience like no other. We were very spoiled with the sheer amount of Festa content leading up to June 13th, when they released a song for ARMY.
Last but not least, happy birthday, BTS. Happy birthday, ARMY. Let's stay in our Magic Shop for a long time. Borahae!
