After a mind-blowing and immensely successful concert that lasted four days in LA titled “Permission to Dance in LA,” the boys have been happier than ever. This is evident with the amount of streaming they have been doing on VLive right after each concert and their consistent updates through SNS. Just like ARMYs, the boys also felt that the ending of their surreal concert was bittersweet. Jung Kook expressed his feelings during his live stream with Namjoon: "What can I say? It felt like a dream."
Further activities also included the Jingle Ball concert and the release of “Butter ( Holiday Remix ).” Now that the concerts are over, what’s next for the boys? Through the concert, “Permission to Dance On Stage” in LA, and also through an announcement by BTS’ @bts_bighit Official Twitter account, we’ve gotten hints of an upcoming concert and world tour likely starting March 2022. Without a doubt, ARMYs were thrilled after this announcement.
But, there are still approximately two and a half months before March, so it posed the question: what would the boys be doing during that time? Speculations included the drop of a new album and more, but on December 6, 2021, at 9:00 AM KST, BIGHIT MUSIC's official Twitter account made an announcement of BTS’ vacation, stating that the boys will be taking a period of rest and spending ‘the holiday season with their families.’ It was also mentioned that ‘BTS will be focusing on preparing for the concert and release of the new album that will mark the beginning of a “new chapter.”’
Of course, this is even better news for ARMYs, ever delighted about the boys getting some rest and spending time with their loved ones again. This wasn’t much of a surprise anymore as a similar event happened back in 2019.
So, while ARMYs are making plans on how to spend the two months with the boys taking a break, those plans ranging from catching up with content, streaming, voting on upcoming award shows and more, another surprise dropped on everyone. A really big one.
On December 7, 2021, individual verified Instagram accounts of BTS surfaced. At first, many ARMYs were confused and thought that these accounts were fake, but immediately were shocked upon seeing the verified blue tick next to each of the usernames. Without a doubt, the news spread rapidly in a frenzy with each of the Instagram accounts reaching 1 million followers within 30 minutes.
The boys also share the excitement as we witness their discovery of the app and the beginnings of great feeds. Lastly, BIGHIT MUSIC also stated through Newsen: ‘We believe they opened these Instagram accounts to express their individuality as artists and to communicate in different ways.’ Regardless, this was a well-received occasion and ARMYs are certainly looking forward to what the boys will post in the future on their promising accounts.
