The release of “Butter,” the boys’ second English single after their record-smashing hit “Dynamite,” was highly anticipated. It’s no surprise that once the new song dropped, more history was made and records were broken left and right. As of the time of this writing, it’s crystal clear that “Butter” has achieved and will continue to achieve success. Of course, we cannot forget to mention one of the major achievements so far: an amazing No.1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for 4 consecutive weeks now.
This new “Butter” era has been a real delight to experience, especially with HYBE LABELS dropping two more versions — “Butter (Hotter Remix)” and “Butter (Cooler Remix)” — both with their own distinct and funky sounds that still encompass the original song. But, the fun can’t stop there, right? BANGTANTV has also given us “Butter (Instrumental),” and “Butter (Sweet Remix)” - both in audio file format, while “Butter (Special Performance),” and “Butter in 노래방.” are available as MVs.
On June 15, 2021, 12:00 AM (KST), two days after the mind-blowing 6th Muster in celebration of BTS’ 8th anniversary, a Weverse notice was posted by BIGHIT’s official BTS Twitter account (@bts_bighit) about the upcoming release of “Butter” CD. According to the notice, the CD will be released on Friday, July 9, 2021, at 1:00 PM (KST). This day also marks the official ARMY day and the sentiment behind the release date is clear. Pre-orders have already been made for the CD which comes in two versions, Peaches Ver. & Cream Ver. Some of the contents of the CD include Photo Book, Poster, Lyric Cards, a Photo Stand, and more.
Oh, but it doesn’t end there. In addition to this release, it has been noted that a new track may also be accompanying “Butter.” Information floating around in the Twittersphere indicates a song title for the new track has been leaked already, however, no official announcement has been made yet. The Peaches and Cream versions have garnered a lot of excitement from ARMYs, which isn’t really anything new especially when it comes to releases from BTS.
This is just one amongst the possible upcoming releases from the boys this year, and there are sure to be many more surprises that ARMY can look forward to. Until then, we cannot wait for the exciting release on ARMY Day. ARMYs are currently still able to pre-order a copy of the ‘Butter’ CD and pick between Peaches, Cream, or both versions if they feel like giving themselves an extra treat!
