All of us ARMY’s know how the BTS members cherish food and eat so well! Each member has their own specific and iconic food palate. Now, we are going to see how these tastes have changed since their debut. Go, go, go~~
1. RM
The leader always had a dislike for seafood and a special preference for meat, which is something that exposed the cute bickers between him and Jin. While he loves classic Korean dishes like kalguksu, ramyun with kimchi, and samgyeopsal, his food taste is also influenced by global dishes and delicacies. We can see that Namjoon is also a fan of aglio oglio, which is a traditional Italian pasta dish that has originated from Naples. With its rich, oily, and garlicky flavor, it’s not hard to see why he likes it!
2. Jin
As mentioned earlier, the eldest is a huge, huge fan of seafood. So much so that he has his own solo song, “Super Tuna.” And how could we forget Jin’s iconic mukbang show, Eat Jin. Being a cook himself, he has some iconic favorite dishes like naengmyun with meat (cold noodles), kimchi jjigae, and lobster meat. Lately, he has also dabbled in foreign dishes like In-N-Out's cheeseburger. Whose mouths wouldn’t water for that delightful dish?
3. Suga
Yoongi concerningly loves iced americano, so much so that he even drinks it on an empty stomach! Along with this drink that he can’t live without, he also adores his meat, like Namjoon. His favorite dishes include bulgogi, galbi or Korean barbeque, and to top it off, exotic fruits. His food palate has not evolved that much, but he indulges in steak, an American delicacy which consists of, like expected, meat!
4. J-Hope
I feel as of now you would be knowing j-hope’s favorite food pretty well, and some of us know it as a funny meme, “Hamburger and Sprite!” which Hobi used to say almost every time during their 2018 tour in the USA. Like Yoongi, he also adores and cherishes his meat and loves meat dishes like bulgogi and galbi. Moreover, he is one of the two members who also likes mint choco, which is a pretty controversial flavor. He has also always had a sweet tooth and loves desserts like churros. Hence, we can see how our hope shifted from Korean classics like japchae, and bulgogi to other delicacies like churros, hamburgers, and of course, sprite! Recently, we could see him and the maknae (youngest), Jung Kook, divulging in the food made by Chipotle.
5. Jimin
Jimin, whose pet name is Mochi, really likes the food mochi, which is a sweet delicacy of Japanese origin. A wholesome yet funny incident took place between him and James Corden, wherein Jimin had cutely called James, Papa Mochi. Another iconic incident was the timeless dumpling fight which took place between him and Taehyung. We can see how Jimin adores his food, along with some irreplaceable Korean classics like japchae, kimchi jjigae, and tteokbokki. Let’s not forget how Jimin also recently received a thank you from Samyang Foods’ Vice Chairperson for indirectly promoting Buldak Bokkeum Myeon or fire ramen noodles, another favorite of Jimin’s.
6. V
As mentioned above, Taehyung and Jimin had fought over a dumpling, which shows how they are such adorable foodies. Some of his Korean favorites are japchae, potato starch noodles, bibimbap, and kimbap. He also cherishes foreign delicacies like churros, barbequed burgers, and especially cherry-flavored cola.
7. Jung Kook
Our maknae is a huge fan of ramen. So much so that at midnight, he had once tweeted six packs of cooked and finished cup ramen noodles. Recently though, during his birthday VLive, Jung Kook shared that after a health check this year, he was advised not to eat food containing flour/gluten as it didn’t agree with his body. This must be so difficult for someone who has mentioned many times how much he enjoys ramen.
We all know how much of a foodie he is when we saw how unwilling he was to part with the last portion of his kimchi fried rice in the FESTA video for BTS’ 7th year anniversary. He also loves samgyeopsal, and ARMY still mourns the loss of the demo he created for it. Along with these foods, he also loves some foreign classics like Chipotle’s sour cream which he has adorably pronounced as ‘Chicotle’.
