This year is going to be the eighth year of ARMYs walking together with BTS. ARMY is the abbreviation of Adorable Representative M.C. for Youth. The name itself was announced by Namjoon on Twitter a month after their debut. Like a boulder rolling down a hill, gaining momentum with every breath, the fandom has been rapidly gaining traction because of the variety of BTS’ genre and style, and the love they share with their fandom. No, it is never a surprise whenever they release a new song, and it’s an insta-hit on Billboard, Melon, and every other chart in the world – because, let’s face it, at this point, ARMY is everywhere.

BTS is known to be a group that communicates with their fans through their lyrics. Their songs tell beautiful stories and share many things with ARMY; the songs speak about everything from learning to love ourselves, being okay to not be okay, being firm in your convictions, and that’s not even touching on their narrative storytelling you can unravel from within their music. The songs help ARMY to feel closer to the band and validated in their own lives.

Not only does BTS have stories for ARMY, but there are also so many untold stories from ARMY around the world about the boys that we love. Now, we would hear some of the stories about how ARMY feels toward BTS and their lovely fellow fandom members.

Dian, an ARMY from Indonesia, said that BTS has a special place in her heart because they taught her how to do self-love. They keep inspiring her and the other ARMYs to not be afraid to be real. BTS is like an alarm for her. Through their songs, their words, their actions, they show the rest of us that they have not only come together for work-related reasons, but they have grown to become a family that anyone could ask for. Every member has their own characteristics, but they always show a unified front to the world in order to prove their strength as a unit, despite being 7 strong individuals.

Bangtan helps Vera, an INDOMY (Indonesian ARMY), to find happiness among this hectic and tiring world. They are her happy pill; BTS could make her bad day become better just by her watching a music video or their variety show, “Run BTS!.” BTS really plays an important role in her mood every single day. She feels happy and safe when she sees how the boys interact with each other; for her, there is sincerity in every move they make.

BTS always includes their fans in every chance they have. They mention the fandom's name in every speech they do. They even put our name in their music videos for “Butter” and “Boy With Luv.”

Lili and Dhani agree that ARMY are not only fans of BTS, but that the fandom is also a home. We are not just fans that support BTS, but we're also a family that helps each other through social media and real life. No matter who we are, where we are from, or the language that we speak, whenever we discuss BTS, we will always feel a connection between each other – even if we have never met before. The fans also give positive vibes to each other` we remind each other to only focus on the boys and never hate anyone despite how bad they treat us and the boys. It is also because BTS always teaches us to spread love no matter where and when.

ARMY tends to strive to follow what BTS said, “teamwork makes the dream work.” We work together as a team to support BTS, we organize ourselves to stream songs and music videos, we vote in every event in order to make BTS the winner. We also do charity to help others. We plant trees to help better the world. ARMY walks the same path as BTS does, because we never walk alone, not BTS, not ARMY. We will always go together, forever.

To celebrate the special day of ARMY’s creation, ARMYs around the world are already preparing some projects. A Twitter account @allforarmy created a project #BeingARMY, where ARMYs are going to make a video that contains what being an ARMY means to you, your feelings, and the moments that make you proud to be in the fandom, and they will compile it into one.

Bangladesh ARMY is making a charity project with a local non-profit organization, Biddyanondo Foundation, in order to help the people who have been affected with Covid-19, because the cases are getting worse day by day in their country.

In Indonesia, @orionofbangtan also made a charity project to share happiness to the kids in Baitul Walad Musthofa orphanage. They sell merchandise, and the profit will be given directly to the orphanage.

There are so many projects that ARMY does to celebrate ARMY day, because they want everyone to feel happy on their special day. BTS and ARMY will continue to spread happiness and love in this world as long as we walk on this path together.
